My name is Leah Nettle. I have 10+ years of experience in the animal behavior field. I understand the joys and frustrations of living with pets with behavior problems, and I’m looking forward to working with you and your cat or dog towards a safer and happier relationship.
Services
Dog Behavior Consultations
I offer in-home consultations for dogs with behavior problems.
I focus on: dogs that bark at other dogs or people while on leash (leash reactivity); dogs that bark, growl, or bite family members or strangers; house-training issues; fearful behavior; dogs that vocalize, urinate/defecate, destroy objects and/or injure themselves while left alone (separation anxiety); among other issues.
Practical, compassionate, force-free and backed by science.
Cat Behavior Consultations
I provide in-home and video consultations for cats with concerning behavior.
Common behavior issues may include: urinating/defecating outside of the litter box; hissing, growling, swatting and/or fighting between household cats; hissing, growling, swatting and/or biting humans; prolonged hiding and cowering; introducing a new cat or dog into a household; and other problem behaviors.
Practical, compassionate, force-free and backed by science.
Group Classes and Other Services
I teach group reactive, parkour and scent classes, hold private lessons for reactive dogs, lead seminars on animal shelter behavior and welfare and other topics, evaluate AKC CGC and Trick Dog tests and provide legal behavior assessments.
Puppy Board and Train
Your puppy will stay in my home and embark on the journey of learning new skills and about the world we live in. This service is offered to puppies from 8 weeks to 6 months old and focuses on early life socialization, foundation skills, and instilling a consistent routine.
Dogs and Babies
I offer private counseling for families who have specific questions or concerns about transitioning from pet parents to parents of a baby. As a licensed Family Paws Parent Educator, I also offer group workshops (Dogs & Storks and Dogs & Toddlers) that give advice to expecting parents on how to safely include their pet in their growing family, from before birth into toddlerhood. Please reach out! Becoming a new parent can be exciting and scary, but it helps to have a plan!
